Is there a fee to use Jobivo?

Providers keep 100% of the price they set — Jobivo takes no commission on jobs. Booking is free, and you can settle with the provider directly. If you choose to pay by card, Paystack settles their share into their own bank account — it never sits in a Jobivo account — and we add a service fee of ₦330 on a ₦15,000 job, never more than ₦2,000 to cover the card-processing charge. Jobivo earns through optional Premium and Business subscription plans for providers.

How do deposits work?

For material-heavy jobs, the provider can set out a deposit in their quote (e.g. for tiles or parts) so they can get started, with the balance due on completion. You can settle both directly with the provider, or pay by card — either way Paystack settles the money into the provider's own account, never into a Jobivo one.

Can I negotiate a quote?

Yes. When a provider sends a quote you can accept it, request changes (price, timeline, scope) and get a revised quote, or decline with a reason. Many customers also chat with the provider on WhatsApp first to agree details.

What happens if a provider doesn't show up?

Open a dispute from the booking page — our team reviews the evidence from both sides. Jobivo never holds the provider's money: Paystack settles card payments into their own bank account, so we cannot reverse one and any refund is between you and the provider. What we can do is act on their rating and standing, up to removing them from the platform.

Why should I verify my identity as a customer?

Verified customers get accepted faster — providers trust bookings backed by a verified phone number or NIN. Some providers only accept verified customers. Verification takes about a minute in Settings, and your NIN is never shown to anyone.

Do online services work differently?

Slightly — there's no service address, since the provider works with you remotely via calls, chat and file sharing. Online providers serve customers anywhere in Nigeria, regardless of city.

Can I cancel a booking?

Yes. You can cancel a pending or accepted booking before the job starts. Cancellation policies vary — check the details on your booking page.

What payment methods are accepted?

All Nigerian debit/credit cards, bank transfers, and USSD payments, online.

What does Jobivo take from my work?

Nothing. You keep 100% of the price you set — there is no commission on jobs. When a customer pays by card, Paystack settles your money into your own bank account; it never sits in a Jobivo account, which also means we cannot hold it, delay it or reverse it. The customer pays a small service fee on top of your price, and that fee only covers the card-processing charge. Jobivo earns from optional Premium and Business subscriptions.

Does it cost anything to join and be listed?

No. Creating your profile, getting identity-verified, and the dashboard — jobs, messages, schedule, earnings — are free. The free plan covers up to 5 bookings a month. Premium removes the cap and adds quote requests for ₦3,000 a month, and your first month of it is free from the day you are approved.

How long does verification take?

You verify your NIN or BVN and take a selfie, which is matched against the photo on your ID. A person then reviews it — usually within 24–48 hours — and we email and WhatsApp you the moment you are approved. You can start building your profile straight away while you wait.

When do I actually get paid?

If you asked for a deposit, it reaches your bank account before you start, so you can buy materials. The balance follows when the job is marked complete and the customer confirms. There is no payout queue to wait through and no minimum threshold, because the money is settled to you directly rather than paid out by us.

Can I control which jobs I take?

Yes. You set your own prices, decide whether you want a deposit and how much, set your working hours and how many jobs a day you will take, and mark yourself out of office when you are away. You can accept or decline any booking, and you can choose to take bookings only from identity-verified customers.

Do I need a shop or an address?

No. You can work at the customer’s place, at your own, or entirely online — categories like design, writing and development are remote, and those providers serve customers anywhere in Nigeria. Your full address is never shown publicly; customers see your area until a booking is confirmed.

What if a customer does not pay, or cancels?

Take a deposit up front for anything with materials in it — that is what deposits are for. If something goes wrong after the job, either side can raise it and our team reviews the evidence from both. Customers get rated by providers too, so a customer with a history of wasting people’s time is visible before you accept.

I run a company, not just myself — does that work?

Yes. Register as a business with your CAC certificate and status report, and your company gets a verified business profile. On the Business plan you can add colleagues as team members, each identity-verified in their own right, and assign them to jobs.
